We thank you for this day, for you have made it. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Father, we bring to you our worries and anxieties today. Maybe we’re anxious about the future of our jobs, the future of our country, the future of our children, the future of our health. Whatever it may be, we cast them all into your loving arms. Please rid them of us!
Sometimes darkness overwhelms us and we feel hopeless in this broken world. But praise be to God that we have a savior who hears us, knows us, loves us, saved us, and takes our burdens when they’re too heavy to carry.
Your word is clear. You have commanded us to be strong and take refuge in you. We’re never to worry about what’s going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year; because you have not given us the grace to face tomorrow’s anxieties until we get there. Rather, we will trust you, in simple faith, for our futures.
We can rely on the provision of your presence in anxious times. Thank you for being near, and for walking with us at all times. Amen.
