A prayer for unity
Heavenly Father,
We thank you for this day, for you have made it; we thank you for the breath in our lungs; we thank you for this great country; we thank you that you are sovereign and in control. God, please bring unity and oneness to the people of the United States of America. We may be divided on many things, but we have been called to love one another as ourselves. Help us to set down our pride and be gentle and loving towards one another, despite our viewpoints and differences. Father, give us the strength and wisdom to strive for unity in our relationships and communities. Amen.
